Question

Running Diskeeper through computer management produces "Unable to connect" message.

Answer

1. Go to the windows\system32 folder and find compmgmt.msc.
2. Rename the .msc file extension to be upper case, ie, compmgmt.MSC.

Note:
This is a system file. We do not know whether changing the name will cause XP to restore the file. If this does happen, the fix will have to be reapplied.
