Diskeeper (NOT under XP) tries to open with some program other than MMC.
Answer
The extension "MSC" should be assigned to Microsoft Management Console. Instead, it has somehow been assigned to another application. To correct this: 1) In My Computer, on the menu bar under Tools or View, click File Options. 2) Click the File Types tab. 3) Scroll down the Registered File Types till you find "MSC". 4) Click MSC to highlight it, then click Delete. 5) Find and delete 2 files, mmc.exe and mmcndmgr.dll, which should be in WINNT\system32. WINDOWS\system. 6) uninstall Diskeeper using Add/Remove Programs. 7) Re-install Diskeeper. This will force the reinstallation of the Microsoft Management Console, which should correct the problem.
