Question

I just ran a defrag and the performance report is showing no improvement.

Answer

This sometimes indicates that certain system files are either currently in use or excluded by default on the system. After running an analysis on the volume in question, ensure that the Fragmentation Tab is selected, then select the option 'Click to view most fragmented files'.
Check to see if the information in this window reflects that the files in question are excluded or in [Excess Allocation] which indicates Windows is using the file.
