This issue is due to an easily modified default setting in Windows XP Professional that effects remote control operations when the system is not a member of a domain. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer and select Tools, Folder Options from the Tools menu. Click the View tab and drag the scroll bar in the Advanced Settings box to the bottom and click the check box next to "Use Simple File Sharing" to remove the check. You want this check box to be empty. Click Apply and/or OK. You will then be able to control Diskeeper remotely on the system. You will also then be able to see and modify NTFS security as now the Security tab on the Properties window is visible, it was not visible before.
